Information You Submit
Search Entries
A name, location, or other detail entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Carroll County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy policy and terms govern its handling of the query and any later transaction.
Messages to Us
When a visitor sends an email or uses a contact form, the supplied address, message, and related details are retained as needed to respond. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Information Collected Automatically

- Pages viewed and the approximate time spent on them.
- The referring page or website, when supplied by the browser.
- Date and time information tied to each request.
Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support site or advertising functions. Browser controls can reject or delete cookies. Blocking them may cause some features or partner services to behave differently.

Outside Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to the Carroll County Sheriff, Maryland DPSCS, courts, government record portals, federal locators, or third-party search services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that operator’s privacy terms apply. Carroll County Released Inmates does not control how an external agency or company collects, retains, or shares information.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies or identifiers to measure activity across websites and tailor advertisements. Any such tracking occurs through the partner’s systems and is governed by the partner’s disclosures and opt-out controls.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a stand-alone product. It may be disclosed to service providers or authorities in these limited settings:
- Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool.
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements.
- Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Practices
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information under the site’s control. No internet transmission, connected server, email system, or storage method can be guaranteed secure. Carroll County Released Inmates therefore cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
